What is mindfulness training?

Welcome to our Movements Academy 8 weeks of Mindfulness Training!

To be mindful is to be fully aware of the present as it is. It is all about awareness and living in the present moment. By practicing mindfulness, you will learn to make conscious choices, instead of responding on autopilot, in a way that is more appropriate to the situation and better for your health & well-being.

The training is based on the original, evidence based MBSR/MBCT training (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction). It has been scientifically proven that an 8-week practice period offers lasting effects in reducing stress and various other stress-related complaints.

During the course, we will practice exercises with attention, give education, and you will learn to be more aware in the here & now. We will practice various exercises & meditations, such as the body scan. As a result, you will enjoy pleasant experiences more & you will learn to process challenges better with indicating your boundaries, difficulties, and acceptance. The training is an effective way to control stress & improve the quality of your life. We learn to become aware of the mind’s tendency to wander between worrying about the past & the future, and we discover that there is an alternative; a space of conscious choice.

Why mindfulness increases your quality of life?

Numerous studies have shown that mindfulness increases quality of life & that it brings a positive change in our cognitive and neurobiological functioning. Mindfulness also transforms the way in which we view ourselves and the world, and how we respond to our surroundings.

During a time where many people face change & uncertainty every day, it has become even more important to stay focused & stress-free. Mindfulness helps us to deal with increased stress in work & our daily lives, and to enjoy life as it unfolds.
