Art of Arm Balance

Saturday, September 30th, 14:00-17:30

 This workshop-style practice will start with a short flow sequence to warm up the joints, followed by a few drills to work toward the different arm balancing poses. We will explore bakasana (crane pose) and some variations, pincha mayurasana (forearm pose) & adho mukha vrksanasa (handstand). We will discuss the anatomy and biomechanics of these poses to be able to help you establish a progressive practice & improve these challenging postures with safety and fun. The workshop will end with a short yin practice to relax & restore.

Elysian Vocals with Singing Bowls & Guatemalan Cacao

Yula Elysian, a vocalist for over 10 years, comes to visit from Guatemala and brings her music and Cacao to Europe. Dive into your inner world through a guided meditation and let the magical sounds and healing spirit of cacao take you on a journey within. Together we will enjoy the ceremonial beverage with our own personal intentions and connect with our essence. Cacao supports us to pause, strengthen our intuition and get closer to ourselves. The nutrients of this superfood plant from the mountains of Guatemala, provide our body with essential nutrients, increase emotional well-being, clear the mind and open the heart.

This workshop will explain the origins of different Vedic and Buddhist Mantras, the meaning behind them, and of course, practice chanting them. Followed by a relaxing, heart-opening Yin practice.

FaceYoga has been done throughout the ages; even Cleopatra did this in ancient Egypt. Like with exercises for the body, FaceYoga takes its effects over time. This training is based on the original, evidence-based MBSR/MBCT training (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction). It has been scientifically proven that 8 weeks of practice offers lasting effects in reducing stress and various stress-related complaints.

During the course, we will practice exercises with attention, give education, and you will learn to be more aware in the here & now. We will do various exercises and meditations, such as the body scan. As a result, you will enjoy pleasant experiences more and you will learn to better deal with indicating your boundaries, difficulties, & acceptance.

The training is an effective way to control stress and improve the quality of your life. We learn to become aware of the mind’s tendency to wander between worrying about the past & the future, and we discover that there is an alternative; a space of conscious choice.

Lymph Love

Our lymphatic system is the waste system of our body & is essential to maintaining your health. When your lymph is working well, you have more energy, your digestion is better, and your immune system is more resilient, so you get fewer colds and bugs. Plus, it’s a super relaxing way to take care of yourself & you will learn simple tools to integrate into your daily life. In this workshop, you will learn what lymph is & why it’s so important to maintain our health; also self-massage techniques – including dry brushing. There will be a gentle yoga flow into Yin poses to activate key lymph areas.

Inversions & Backbends

Flow fearlessly into Backbends and Inversions in this intermediate to advanced MASTERCLASS as you learn juicy insights to deepen your backbends & level up your Inversion practice.
The class will start with hip, spine, and shoulder opening flows to prepare the body, as we review a handful of deep Spinal Extensions that require both mobility and flexibility. The flow will then take you through prep work, alignment, entry/exit, and its many variations for the Pincha (forearm stand) and Handstand, as you learn to hold them longer with more strength & grace.
